1. Describe a time when you had to work hard to achieve a goal.

I’m the type of person who to rely on luck. I believe that everything can only be achieved through hard work and determination, and my final year in high school was one of the times that I spared no effort to achieve my goal.

At that point, I was still a senior student and like all the other students, passing the university entrance exam to get into my dream university was my . But for me, I felt that the was even higher since I had chosen Hanoi Medical University – one of the top universities in Vietnam. There are thousands of students taking part in the exam every year so it is highly competitive.

In order to compete with the other candidates, every day I would spend hours in the to read as many books as possible and to learn as much as I could. And even after school, I usually stayed up late to review everything I had learnt that day. It was a long process with a lot of hard work but I didn’t feel tired at all because becoming a doctor was my greatest desire. I was willing to put in a lot of hard work and effort for that dream and to not let anything stop me from achieving it.

So in the end, all the hard work paid off, and I passed the with outstanding results and became a medical student. When I received the results, I was so happy that I burst into tears. All of my hard work for the year has helped me achieve one of my big goals in life so far.

2. Describe a paid job you ever did or someone you know ever did.

During my freshman year, except for my course work I still had abundant time. So I to do some part-time jobs to earn a living.

Honestly, it was for me to find something to do at first because there were not many things for freshmen to do. Fortunately, I got a job in a cosmetic shop. I was allocated to clean the shelves. Because I was a green hand firstly, I got by my senior manager when I took shifts four out of five times. I was so sad and crying on my way back to my dorm. However, despite the sadness and tiredness, I persisted until the end. I want to my parent’s burden so I didn’t ask them for the living cost.

During this period, I did well and got a precious chance to learn sales and stock. I have to admit that thanks to the experience in this job, I obtained a lot of which I couldn’t learn from university. Of course, I made some friends who gave me so much professional help and courage. Although the salary of this job was not very high, the skills I learned were priceless. With the help of this working experience, I gained a precious offer from other famous companies when I graduated.

3. Describe your idea of making a good first impression in a job interview.

It's common sense that most people my age are now good job opportunities. Thus, I have to get to know how to leave a good first impression in a job interview. Today, I would like to share with you some of my knowledge about this topic.

In a professional situation, the first impressions are significantly important. Most job interviews don’t last more than 45 minutes. In such a short period of time, from those who don’t know anything about ourselves, we have to persuade them that we are for the position we applied for. Thus, a good first impression can help to increase the success rate in our application process.

There are many things a candidate can do to create a positive first impression. You may choose to follow some of these tips or all of them, arriving on time for the interview, dressing formally, and using appropriate ways of behavior and communications. Besides, there are some noted points that you should pay much attention to like job description, company information which you acquired through . By going through the required tasks and skills for the , company’s culture or giving some suggestions to improve productivity of the tasks you might be in charge of when you take that position can help you stand out from other . For me, I would choose to follow all the tips above.

Apart from first impressions, I strongly believe that last impressions are important as well. Often we are not accepted immediately in the interview. Recruiting team will have to take into account all candidates’ performances during the interview to choose the most suitable ones for the position. Therefore, a good first impression is not enough, we have to build a good relationship with recruiters by making a good last impression, too. By doing so, we showed our respect to and the job we applied for.

Being in a job interview is not an enjoyable experience. However, we have to get through it to pursue our dream jobs. Thus, we should prepare well enough for occasions like that.

4. Describe a very difficult task that you succeeded in doing as part of your work or studies.

When I was still studying in , a part of the curriculum required you to do an internship in order to graduate. I was lucky to be picked by a design boutique that handled very clients, with campaigns valued in thousands of dollars.

During my second week there, one of the clients suddenly decided that a campaign, which had been in the works for a month and was due to be launched in three days, should be completely reworked. Apparently he was with several crucial parts of the strategy and we were tasked with reworking it all from the ground floor.

We spent all night brainstorming how to pull off something that took a month to before. It was an incredibly challenging project and we had only one chance to get it right. I took a look at previous projects that the company had run with this client, doubled back on the feedback the client had given throughout the project and had a moment of clarity. I had an idea and I pitched it to the team and was set up to run points on the project.

After hours of hard work we had a new project that incorporated what was already created into a new strategy which would not only make use of all the materials created this far, but would also keep the original timetable in place with minor modifications. The client was over the moon at our follow up meeting and the of the new plan.
