I think people watch TV for entertainment. There are far more entertainment programs than educational ones. And in my experience, most people see TV as a form of in their free time. If I think about the most popular programs in the UK, such as talent shows like “X-Factor” or soap operas like “Eastenders”, the focus is definitely on entertainment rather than education.

I believe that the Internet will probably replace some means of communication and entertainment because we have wifi everywhere we go. Also, web-based companies like Amazon are really popular nowadays. In the future, I’m sure we will spend more money online than in traditional shops.

4. Should TV play a role in educating children? How?

Yes, definitely. Good children’s TV programs should tell stories that contain some lessons about how to or what is morally right and wrong. Many of the traditional fairy tales like “Cinderella” always carry messages that teach children to be kind and helpful.

Additionally, I think it is the emergence of different kinds of smartphones that enable people to get easier access to available social media applications and thus use them more often.
