1. Describe a change that will improve your local area.

I'm currently living in Hanoi - one of the craziest places in Southeast Asia to roam the streets, whether on some form of transport or on .

Traffic has always been a problem that every Hanoi resident has to face every single day. Especially during the rush hour, there are long fleets of cars and motorcycles honking crazily, struggling to get out of the narrow streets, especially in the central area of the .

Besides that, traffic accidents are also another major concern because each year thousands of people lose their lives due to road . In order to solve these two problems, I would suggest that the government improve the local public transport system. You know what, only 10% of Hanoians take public transport, and the other 90% take their private vehicles. So it is absolutely reasonable to reduce the number of private vehicles by improving public transport infrastructure.

For example, they can replace old buses with modern ones to improve the and they can quickly finish the heavily delayed metro projects to encourage more people to take public transport. On the other hand, I thịnk the government should also raise people's awareness of traffic law and road safety. People who violate the traffic law should be heavily fined and all children must be taught about traffic law and road safety at school.

Driver education is a key area to look at for a and longer-term solution. This will take a couple of generations to change mindsets and get the public to respect and obey the law.

2. Describe a problem you have noticed in your city/hometown.

Until recently, the city in which I currently live didn’t really have that many serious , probably because it had enough resources at its disposal to deal with any kind of problems. But, something happened in the last few years, and suddenly we can see that our city is facing a lot of problems, and today, I would like to talk about one of them here.

The problem, I would like to discuss here, is our city’s overall healthcare problem which was never an issue for us even before 5 years ago. But, over the last 5 years, things have deteriorated to such a point that the common people of our city can’t really our hospital authority anymore with their health.

And the reason for which they can’t trust the healthcare providers of our city anymore is that the have to wait at least 30 minutes in a big queue just to get a simple thing, like checking the blood group of a person, tested. Besides, we can also see a number of patients lying or sleeping on the floors of our hospitals and clinics, apparently because they just don’t have enough for poor patients.

Anyways, people and the city authority are mainly blaming a huge influx of population from the urban areas into our city, in addition to other reasons, like the lack of budgets and enough skilled health workers. But, whatever is this problem, the truth is it is a serious matter - a matter of life and death - and something needs to be done immediately in order to take care of it.

I believe, in order to solve this problem, first, we need to make sure that people in the urban areas have better income opportunities in their own areas so that they don’t have to move into the city. Besides, should also be proportionately increased in order to take care of the more healthcare needs, like paying for building new healthcare facilities and employing more healthcare professionals.

3. Describe a person whose job is important to society.

This is such an important topic to ponder over every once in a while. So, I would be more than happy today to talk about a person (and his job) who I think has a far greater impact on our society than any other person or .

Anyway, the person I want to talk about is a policeman and also a cousin of mine, who has been working in the police force for more than 5 years. Now, I don’t really want to put my police cousin in any , but initially, I didn’t really like him to work in the police force because I thought that it would complicate his relationship with his family and friends by essentially turning himself into an “unsocial” fellow.

After all, as a policeman, he would almost always need to deal with all kinds of “bad” elements of our . But, as time went on, and I found how hard and tirelessly he works in order to keep the good citizens of our country safe and secured from dangerous and criminal activities, I had no other choice but to change my mind about the job of a police officer.

Of course, some would argue that in a first-world country, like ours, police have a rather limited role to play since we all more or less are law-abiding citizens, but that may not necessarily always be . In fact, after seeing my good cousin how he helps the elderly walk out of a grocery store and find her car in a parking lot, and helping a little, lost kid to find his parents in a stadium, I know that a police officer does a lot more than just elements of society at bay.

Anyway, I think, the job my cousin does is important to society because it is the dedication and hard work of police personnel, like my cousin, that we have managed to thrive and peacefully coexist in a beautiful country like ours. Besides, it is usually the police who always extend their helping hands whenever we are in any kind of danger or distress.
