Thì quá khứ hoàn thành diễn tả một sự việc xảy ra trước một mốc thời gian hoặc trước một sự việc khác trong quá khứ.

E.g: People had been safely evacuated before the mudslide struck the village.

Dựa vào những ví dụ vừa rồi, các bạn có thể đoán được công thức của thì Quá khứ hoàn thành không?

S + had + P2 + …

E.g: The fire had destroyed a large area of the forest when they arrived.

S + hadn't + P2 + …

E.g: By the time I woke up, my neighborhood had been covered in thick snow.

Had + S + P2 + …?

Answer:	→ Yes, S + had.
	→ No, S + hadn't.

E.g:	Had you prepared for the hurricane before it hit the area?
	→ Yes, we had.
